Do I need to replace my roof?

The answer to this question will depend on the age of your roof, the original roof construction quality, and the elements it is been exposed to. Whenever possible, we will recommend repairing your roof so long as it is cost effective. Sometimes a full roof replacement is necessary, especially if the roof is already at or near the end of its intended life cycle and is showing signs of fatigue or possible roof failure. All roofs have an expected lifetime, so virtually every roof will need replacement at some point.

What should I do if my roof is leaking?

The first thing you’ll want to do is find the source(s) of the leak(s), then place a bucket and some drop cloths or tarp(s) underneath. Remove any furniture or other items from under the roof leak. Then contact Berube Roofing. We will come out ASAP, inspect your roof and provide a FREE estimate on roof repair.

Why do roofs have a limited lifetime?

Roofs are only as good as the materials and labour that went into constructing them. And even the best roofing materials are subject to degradation over time, especially with all the weather elements that we get here in Ottawa – Snow, ice, deep freezes, rain, wind, heat, humidity and more.

How much will a new roof cost? How long will a new roof last?

The cost for your roof replacement will depend on factors such as the size of the roof (roof area or roof square footage), the roof materials needed, as well as the height of the roof, the roof configuration and the level of access or obstacles involved. The expected lifetime of a new roof (full roof replacement) is generally in the range of 20 years (roof lifetime can vary with roofing materials, weather conditions, etc.)
